I’m a hopeless romantic. Perhaps that is why I love the new series Once Upon A Time by ABC. The idea of a small town filled with the different characters from the fairy tales I grew up with is just too delicious. Makes me want to go to Storybrooke myself and help them remember who they are, make them realize that they are trapped in time by a horrible curse.
Another thing I like about the show is the fact that I can watch it with kids around. Other shows of late have been filled with too much adult content, they really can’t be good for children.
I also like the twists that the show has on the lives of the fairy tales characters. These twists make me want to read the original versions of the fairy tales (and not the abridged, honeyed-up stories I know from childhood).
I hope this series will stay on television for some time. I’ve been victim to shows which didn’t make it past season one, and I’ve been terribly disappointed.
I hope this show will see its happily ever after ending.
